How to Plan Your Day at Thermana Laško: Pools, Saunas and Wellness

A day trip to Terme Laško is one of the easiest ways to take a real break in Slovenia. You don’t need to book a hotel or plan for weeks. Pick a ticket, pack a bag and spend the day between warm thermal water, saunas and a good lunch. Here is how to make the most of a day at Thermana Laško.

    Choose the Right Ticket

Thermana offers several types of day tickets, so it is worth deciding in advance how you want to spend the day.

    Thermal Center Thermana Park

The main pool complex sits under the glass dome at Hotel Thermana Park Laško. Here you can choose from:

    • an all-day pool ticket
    • a 3-hour pool ticket, if you only have a morning or an afternoon
    • a combined pool and sauna ticket, which also gives you access to the new Sauna Center
    • a pool ticket with lunch included

The new sauna center at Terme Laško has been completely renovated and offers excellent relaxation.

Ticket prices differ between weekdays and weekends, public holidays and school holidays, and there are separate tickets for children and young people.

    Hotel Zdravilišče Laško

The thermal pools at Hotel Zdravilišče Laško offer a quieter, more traditional setting. Here, too, you can choose all-day or 3-hour bathing, bathing with sauna, or bathing with lunch.

    Wellness Days

If you would like a massage as well, look at the wellness day options. The Mini Wellness Day combines three hours of bathing with a 30-minute back massage, while the Maxi Wellness Day includes a full day of bathing and a 50-minute massage. Book these in advance with the Wellness Spa Center.

Prices change during the year, so check the current price list before you go.

A Sample Day at Thermana Laško

    1. Morning: thermal pools. Start under the glass dome while you are fresh. Swim a few lengths, then move to the raised massage pools with their water jets and “rain” effects.
    2. Lunch: refuel. Eat at the pool restaurant or choose a ticket that includes lunch. Afterwards, rest for a while before heading into the heat.
    3. Afternoon: saunas. If you have a combined ticket, spend the afternoon in the Sauna Center. Move between the Finnish saunas, the steam bath and the Honey Sanarium, cool off in the Kristal ice cave and rest with a view of Hum hill.
    4. Late afternoon: wellness. Finish with a massage or a treatment at the Wellness Spa Center. Honey and beer treatments are a local speciality you won’t find elsewhere.
    5. Before you leave: something sweet. Treat yourself to Laško honey cake in the café, or walk along the Savinja into town.
Terme Laško is one of the best thermal spas in Slovenia. It offers bathing in thermal water, relaxation in a renovated wellness area, excellent accommodation, top-quality food and drinks, and a variety of engaging activities both within the spa complex and in the surrounding area.

    Practical Tips

    • Check the opening hours. The pools, saunas and wellness centre all have their own opening hours, and they vary by day of the week.
    • Ask about busy times. If you prefer a quieter visit, call the Thermal Center reception and ask when it tends to be less crowded.
    • Pack smart. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, flip-flops and a bathrobe. For the textile-free sauna area, bring an extra towel or sauna sheet to sit on.
    • Bring a bottle. Laško thermal water is free at the drinking fountains, so you can refill as often as you like.
    • Arrive by train or car. Laško has good rail connections, and there are large free car parks next to both hotels.

Make It a Day to Remember

With a little planning, a day at Thermana Laško feels like a short holiday. Choose your ticket, leave enough time for the saunas, and let the thermal water take care of the rest.
